ProClaris Practical Process™ overview

Business Modeling

This first step is of paramount importance for the project, as it will help gain a holistic vision of the software engineering. The result also represents a common language between the software engineering team and the user community.

The Business Modeling sets the common language (Business Glossary), the Business Rules but also the business process foreseen within the frame of which the system is to be used. From these a number of Business Use Cases shall be identified and defined. Then they shall actually be modeled along with the corresponding Business Activity Diagrams and Business Object Model. A lot of interaction occurs at this stage between the Software Engineering team and the user community.

The schema below represents the activities that are to be performed in order to fulfill this step. Please note the links between all the elements represented, links that correspond to dependency and traceability relationships.
